I absolutely love fall. It is my favorite time of year, which means I better start decorating! 🙂 I took matters into my own hands and made these cute pumpkins with a few pieces of wood and some paint. They were so easy to make and can stay up the whole season!
Here is how to make these cute wood pumpkins:
1 2″x6″ board
1 wooden dowel
Sander (or sand paper)
Foam paint brushes
Using a mitre saw, I cut a 14″, 12″ and 10″ rectangles from my 2″x6″ board. Then I took the dowel and cut three 1 1/2″ pieces for the stems.
Sand down the edges of each piece using an orbital sander. If you don’t have an electric sander, you can just use sand paper!
Using a saw, saw two lines on the front of each pumpkin.
Paint the pumpkins using orange paint. I used wood stain to color the stems.
Using a foam brush, paint wood stain on pumpkins. Quickly wipe off stain with a clean rag. This gives the pumpkins an antiqued look and fill in the cracks with color.
Attach stems to the tops of pumpkins using wood glue. Tie ribbon or raffia around the stems.
