We got a lot of legos for Christmas this year and I knew we needed a way to store them!
After stepping on one too many legos, I knew I needed to find somewhere the kids could play with their legos and easily put them away! I searched everywhere for a sturdy lego table with storage, but didn’t want to spend hundreds of dollars! I headed to Ikea and was determined to find something that would work!
Here’s how we made our DIY Lego Table:
IKEA TROFAST Frame
3 IKEA TROFAST Big Storage Boxes
3 IKEA TROFAST Small Storage Boxes
3 Extra Large Lego Building Plates
Miter Saw (or a way to cut down one of the Lego plates)
Assemble the Ikea Trofast frame as directed in the instructions.
Arrange Lego plates on top of the storage box to see where you would like them placed. Use a pen to mark where to cut the third Lego plate so the entire top of the storage box is covered. Cut along the drawn line with a mater saw.
Attach Lego plates to the top of the storage box using liquid nails.
You’ll want to use a lego as a spacer to make sure that the lego plates are properly aligned for building on them.
Put in your drawers.
Fill em’ with legos and you’re ready to play!
My kids have loved it and I’ve loved not stepping on legos every morning!
